Helge Sigg builds his first greenhouse at age 16. The greenhouse is 300 m2 large and built for growing tomatoes.

Tommy Sigg resigns from his then-current job to run the family business full time with his father.

A generational renewal takes place within the company, and Tommy Sigg becomes the principal owner and CEO. At the same time, Bodil Westerlund and Tommy’s sons Felix and Lukas Sigg become shareholders.
The company rents a nearby facility in the same year and expands the production area to 8,000 m2.

Sigg-Plant now produces about 6 million seedlings annually. The seedlings are delivered to customers in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The business employs 55 annual working units.
